Speedo’s Fastskin LZR Racer is the Newest Fastest Swimsuit in the World now Breaking World Records?

Speedo can’t happier with the performance of their latest swimsuit masterpiece - the Fastskin LZR Racer.  Quite lately, it’s all over news as swimmers who wear them started breaking swimming world records one by one over the past several weeks.

Speedo claimed on their website that they harnessed the expertise at NASA to build this super swimming skin that boast to reduce passive drag in the water by as much as 10% than their equally fast Fastskin FSII released 4 years ago.

The $550 swimming gear is considered by many as the newest, fastest and killer swimsuit to grace the swimming arena.  Many must be anticipating that this artificial skin called Fastskin will definitely make a huge impact in the 2008 Olympic games in China.

The release of this ultimate swimming skin has attracted mixed responses and emotions from the many eager enthusiast and whining critics.  The Pros sees this as major development in the history of swimming competition. In fact, FINA, the swimming’s world governing body, has stood by their decision to approve the LZR Racer.

However, much of the antagonistic buzz around is the fact that many believe this alleged superb improvement of the swimsuit is considered to be “performance enhancers” that can be compared with the drugs found in the recent doping scams in different sports.  Doping is considered unethical by most international sports organizations and especially the International Olympic Committee so let’s see how Speedo will tackle that.

I bet all the top swimmers in the world want to try this and see for themselves the difference.  However, some of them are in contract with other swimsuit manufacturers like Adidas.  I wonder what’s on their mind right now.

I still believe fast swimmers are always fast swimmers whether they are in this LZR Racer swimsuit or not.  What do you think?  Do you really believe this suit will bring in unfair advantage in any competition?
