Modu Phone - The World’s Newest, Smallest & Lightest Mobile Phone
An Israeli company founded by Dov Moran, the inventor of the USB flash drive, has designed a unique phone that is expected to set a new standard in the mobile phone market. The phone is aptly called Modu - the world’s first modular phone and currently the smallest and lightest in the market.
Israeli Modu Ltd. produced a very small and compact gadget that will be able to pair (not wirelessly though) with many different consumer electronic devices such as cameras, stereos and digital photo frames creating a “unique digital ecosystem” for gadget geeks around the globe.
Modu is just one of several companies, including Sony Ericsson , that are exploring the market potential for “modular” cell phones which are made of detachable components that can be snapped on or off to suit specific needs. If this phone gain market attention, this Lego-like approach would bring a sudden burst of customization to an industry where personalization has become more than a fad but fashion.
The Modu phone module weighs only 1.3 ounces and is smaller than a credit card. It now holds the Guiness book of world records for the lightest mobile phone.
Get ready to be excited by smaller things to come. The Modu phone coming.
